Sometimes the simplest tools are the best, and this week’s Cool Tech of the Week, Pastebin, has been around a long time and they have stuck to their core, simple, purpose of sharing text.
Known mostly in developer circles, Pastebin is actually useful for more than just developers.
It is great for copying and pasting code with the proper language syntax and easily sharing examples with other coders. But it’s also super simple to paste any example text you have for a Customer Support use case as well, especially when you are working with live chat. Instead of copying large amounts of text in a chat box, just copy a link to Pastebin and your customer will have the text long after the chat is over.
It’s a simple concept, you paste some text, you get a unique link (private, unlisted, or public), you set an expiration date for how long the text will be available, and you send the link. It’s like sending your own top secret, this message will self-destruct message.
Check it out, you may find a simple tool that can help improve your productivity.
